I have always been curious and wanted to explore the world learn new things and gain new experiences. I started early to learn this new thing called HTML to be able to create homepages for the internet. This was in 1996/7 or so and I had started to help friends and family to “put the internet in their PCs”. This was the task of installing a dial-up modem in the PC and doing both software and hardware configurations, dealing with the hardware jumpers was a real thing back then.
This early experience put me on a path to where I am today. My first role as an IT professional was working in web development and multimedia, yeah I created many multimedia CDs using Macromedia software. The good ol’ days around the turn of the millennia. These days all this new tech was bursting onto the scene and I got a chance to be a part of the change here in Iceland. I did a lot of teaching these years where I was teaching web development, using graphic software like Adobe Photoshop, Macromedia Fireworks, Dreamweaver, 3D Studio Max and other tools. For over three years I was spending about 25-30 hours each week in the classroom teaching, and I guess O did around 1.500 to 2.00 hours of teaching that time and I loved every minute of it.
Still to this day, some 20+ years later, my passion is still teaching. I do both formal teachings in a classroom setting each year but no less important teaching is the one where I share my knowledge and experience over the years with my colleagues and the whole community.
Therefore it means so much to me to be recognized as a Microsoft Certified Trainer for 2022 to 2023. I am really proud and humbled for this recognition and it tells me to keep going and that is for sure what I am going to do.
Thank you, Microsoft.
